Billing rates, rounding, CSV import, URL scheme

Added

• Hourly rate per project (Edit project → Billing). PDF and CSV show rate and amount per project, plus a total.
• Currency setting for amounts.
• Round sessions up to 6, 15 or 30 min in exports. Sessions across midnight are rounded once.
• Saved report presets, up to 8.
• CSV import from Toggl Track, Clockify, Harvest and Dial. Shows a preview first; sessions already in Dial are skipped.
• dial:// URL scheme: start?project=, stop, toggle, open, activate.
• The purchase email links to /activate, which opens the licence key in Dial. Dial asks before saving it.

Changed

• Clicking the selected project starts it.
• Updates is a top-level row in Settings, with a banner once an update is downloaded. Check for Updates in the menu bar menu opens it.
• Share screen: Export PDF and CSV stay pinned at the bottom. The CSV uses the same period, projects and toggles as the PDF.
• Show in Finder after an export.
• With one project selected and no client entered, the project name is used as the client.
• The Settings window fits the screen that's open instead of always being 500pt tall.
• The project editor keeps Delete, Archive and Done pinned at the bottom; only the fields above scroll.
• PDF layout: the total and the facts beside it line up, the project table has column headings and a total row, and session notes wrap instead of being cut off.
• Shorter descriptions throughout Settings.
• With a licence, Use a different key opens the key field, so a key can still be pasted by hand.
• Removed the Anonymous install count switch from Settings. Installs that had turned it off stay off, and an empty no-heartbeat file next to state.json still turns it off.

Fixed

• With several displays, the panel opened on the wrong one.
• After the trial ended, the banner said tracking was paused while a session was still running.
• A monthly key pasted by hand could replace a lifetime licence. It is now refused, as it already was from an activation link.

Detection fix

Fixed

• macOS asked “Where is Arc?” or “Where is Spotify?” when those apps weren’t installed. The detection scripts now only address apps that are running.

Call detection, EventKit, new icon

Added

• Call detection from microphone use (CoreAudio). Covers Zoom, Teams, FaceTime, Webex, Discord and browser calls, and needs no Accessibility or Automation permission. Dictation and voice memos are ignored.
• Apple Calendar is read through EventKit. Recurring events now appear after their first occurrence, and Calendar.app no longer launches.
• Monthly licences renew in the background.
• New app icon, in Colour, White and Silver.

• Lifetime licence is $49 and listed first.
• Settings has fewer nested screens. Away time and detection have their own rows.

Fixed

• A stuck AppleScript query could block every detector until relaunch. Each query now has a timeout.
• .ics feeds: moved or cancelled instances of a recurring event showed at the old time too; “second Tuesday” style rules landed on the wrong day; DURATION was ignored.
• The panel could scroll sideways and leave a blank strip.
• The onboarding tour could stall on a step that was already done.
• Pressing Start after the trial opened Settings without saying why. It now opens Dial Pro.

Updater fix

• The anonymous daily ping includes the plan (trial, expired or paid).

Fixed

• Updates failed to unpack on some Macs because the archive contained AppleDouble files (._Dial.app).

Install count

Added

• An anonymous ping once a day that an install is in use. No name, no tracked data. Can be turned off in Settings.

Adjust the last session

• The session you just stopped shows under Start. Drag its edges to change the start or end time.

Onboarding on the live panel

A menu bar timer for the Mac: click a project to start, another to switch, and let it catch the time you forgot to track. An 11 MB download, no account, and nothing leaves your machine.

Tracking
